Statistic: 🌎 Only 6% of CEOs worldwide are women 🌍
There is a surge of women empowerment across the global celebrating international women’s day and their achievements. The reality is the speed of innovation and transformation in technology and other innovations is far faster than the progress made toward gender equality within the workplace.
Gender parity occurs when people of all gender identities are able to proportionately participate in society, a variety of programs and initiatives in the business world. There are still many fundamental changes that need to evolve to ensure an equal and sustainable business environment and social norm.
Research suggests that organizations that are more gender diverse from the top executives and board members through to the managers and employees tend to outperform those that are less diverse.
Deloitte’s recent Women in the Boardroom report highlights the global state of women in executive positions.
The general state of Global statistics currently sits at the following inequalities:
🌎 6% of CEOs are women
🌍 23% of corporate board seats are women
🌏 8.4% world’s boards are chaired by women
Even if we break these statistics down to global regions the inconsistency and inequality is present. Below are the country percentages for board seats that are held by women:
🇺🇸 USA 28%
🇫🇷 France 44%
🇳🇴 Norway 43%
🇮🇹 Italy 40%
🇨🇳 China 15%
🇮🇳 India 18%
🇯🇵 Japan 12%
The current trajectory suggests that research shows these disparities will continue until 2038. With the current progression pace the global gender parity for women holding chair and CEO positions may not be reached until 2073 or 2111… not in our lifetime!

Invest in learning and development opportunities for women to empower women through sponsorship, promotion and advancing their skill set, expertise and experience. By championing cross-sector collaboration and generating opportunities this can close the global gap in gender parity.
Take a moment to reflect on your business, what areas can be redefined to open resources of leadership that support equitable outcomes, the current succession pipeline and promote parity?
Three questions to aid reinventing the current corporate culture:
💫 How does our company leadership team cultivate and nurture the blend of backgrounds and experience to address corporate complexities and future proof the foundations?
💫 How are employees and executives empowered and elevating skill sets emphasized in the hiring and succession scale?
💫 How do we ensure our pipeline promotes equality in advancing all genders? Are there and junctures where women leaders are loosing critical corporate opportunities?
If these answers to these reflective answers don’t result in equitable outcomes, it’s a great place to start to change current processes, procedures and programs to prevent parity.
Collaborations and coalition across global ecosystems can champion the change and conclude the disparity decades earlier. Every voice matters, together we can empower entrepreneurs and executives to elevate and shatter their own glass ceilings.
